I am a junior student studying Communications Studies, originally from Hangzhou, China. I'm passionate about promoting social justice and creating a positive impact in the world. Being a social media coordinator for several non-profit organizations, I've advocated for health and education equity. I am excited about bringing my writing and creative skills to the People Powered News project, as we aim to highlight the human side of the story, especially on the gun violence related topics.
Maridena Rojas

Maridena is currently the Community Engagement Manager at the Boston Project Ministries. Her work has addressed the HIV/AIDS pandemic, stigma and misplaced judgment, the traumas of domestic violence, drug addiction, immigration, and more, trying to bring understanding the impact that culture has on these issues and highlighting the intersectionality of these issues in the Black/Brown communities.
